I thought you all would enjoy these pics from our Tailgate party this past Friday. We were celebrating Rehab Week a bit early, but heck… It was “Gator Hater week!” We focused on balance activities and games outside for our “Therapy Tailgate” for the Tennessee/ Florida game! We performed golf putting, cornhole, football toss, busted a pinata, ate good food and had a great time! Many memories made for staff and residents as well as some great balance awareness activites! the local paper The Mountain Press attended as well and is supposed to put us on the front page of the paper! Great all around celebration!
On July 9th the Native American’s Easter Band of Cherokee came to Pigeon Forge Care & Rehab Center to teach us some of the ways of the Cherokee with the Hoop Dance, the story of the Hunting Dance, and with Native American artifacts that we could touch and hold.
They also taught us about native herbs and how they were used. Thanks to March Johnson, Jack Johnson, Jack Johnson Jr, Kate Davy, Kevin and Sheryl Widener, and Eugene Orick.
The Olympic Games, held at Pigeon Forge Care and Rehab, was a huge success! We hosted the event, and can say with total conviction that everyone who participated had an amazing time, competing in a variety of games and events. Win or lose, everyone who participated came out on top.
