More than 1,000 Signature staff members registered for the recent Spirituality LearnFEST, a virtual learning conference that encouraged participants to consider the impact of spirituality, if fully activated, in a long-term care environment.
And that number doesn’t even include the many who joined in groups, in offices, breakrooms and wherever there were TVs or computers at Signature centers across 10 states to view the live broadcast. The event featured sessions that tied spirituality to numerous aspects of long-term care and health care, from clinical care to legislative involvement and the impact of spirituality in the workplace.

Expansion. Adaptation. Innovation.
These words, in many ways, defined 2014 for Signature HealthCARE. The Revolution brought our total number of locations to 125. We welcomed new centers to the family and took pivotal steps to position SHC as an integrated care network capable of meeting health care needs across the full spectrum of care. We expanded into new business lines while continuing to enhance and invest in existing service offerings.
Culture change and quality of life is a way of life here at Pigeon Forge Care and Rehab Center. That includes folks from various departments getting into the spirit and working to make the environment special for the folks who live here. Daryl and Gary, who work in our Plant Operations Department, spent time recently constructing this nativity scene in the courtyard for the elders, patients, staff, and others to enjoy. It was the highlight of our seasonal decor!
On November 13th, 2014, we held our Stakeholder Appreciation Dinner. This dinner was held to honor stakeholders that have been with us at least five, ten, or twenty years! Three residents spoke in honor of the honored staff members, but all of our residents expressed grateful appreciation for the hard work that our stakeholders put in, especially the wonderful efforts to make our environment not just a health care environment, but a home.
Administrator Keith Boyce said, “I’m personally appreciative of the hard work that all these folks have put in over the years. There isn’t an easy job in health care these days, and to spend five, ten, or twenty years working on behalf of others is truly an accomplishment.”
